Naga Noodles

If you’re ever wandering through Sunderland and craving a bold, no-nonsense noodle fix, Naga Noodles on Holmeside is the kind of spot that quietly commands attention. From the outside, it’s unassuming-but the moment you walk in or take that first bite, you’ll know you’ve stumbled upon something special. It’s a local gem for anyone who takes their spice, flavor, and comfort food seriously.

Naga Noodles doesn’t mess around when it comes to portions or personality. The Naga Box is what many regulars swear by-it’s a flavor-packed container of warm, comforting goodness. You’ve got soft noodles, a medley of mixed meats, and the kind of crispy chicken that actually crunches-no soggy business here. Everything is laced with their signature Naga Special Sauce, which brings heat, umami, and a bit of smoky edge all in one go.

For those who like a kick with every mouthful, the Spicy Beef Noodles and Spicy Pork are where things really heat up. They’ve nailed the balance between tongue-tingling heat and satisfying richness. The Garlic and Chilli Sauce adds an extra punch and goes well with almost anything on the menu, especially if you’re the kind who likes to mix and match toppings.

Veggie options? You’re covered. The Tofu Katsu Curry is more than just an afterthought. It’s crispy on the outside, soft inside, drenched in a rich curry sauce that holds its own against any meat-based dish. It’s the kind of meal that even meat-lovers end up ordering “just to try” and then secretly finishing.

One thing I appreciate about Naga Noodles is that they don’t limit themselves to a single cuisine lane. You’ll spot Thai Red Curry, Beef in Black Pepper Sauce, and even Unagi, which adds a subtle Japanese twist to the lineup. They’ve also got Lo Mein and Poutine on the board-proving this place thrives on variety and bold fusion.

Whether you're in for lunch, grabbing a late-night bite, or need a fast takeaway after work, the service is quick and the food consistently hits the mark. There’s halal food on the menu too, which makes it inclusive for a wide group of diners, and if you prefer a chill sit-down experience, they’ve got dine-in space available.

Solo diners especially love this spot for its no-pressure, quick-service vibe. The place has become a go-to for both students and professionals looking for a reliable lunch fix or dinner treat without breaking the bank or sacrificing flavor.

So if you’re all about bold flavors, generous portions, and food that refuses to be boring, Naga Noodles deserves a spot on your radar. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town, but it’s got the soul, spice, and variety to keep you coming back.

First time ordering and the food is excellent, lots of flavour. Spring rolls average. SPC Chips are nice and don’t expect crispy as they are in a sauce. The beef black been was amazing with thinly sliced beef. Highly recommend and the medium portion is enough for 2

All of this came to 20 pound and honestly the best Asian place in Sunderland that I've tried. Really delicious, crispy and soft chicken, 5 mins wait time, great service, calm restaurant no loud music and friendly staff. also huge portion sizes (both of these are medium). You can also create your own meals here too, with plenty of options. Would highly recommend!!
